The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing a variety of HR functions including talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, and knowledge of employment laws. We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as the Director of HR. This role is a strategic partner to our business leaders, driving our people strategy and leading the delivery of HR services across our construction business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing a variety of HR functions including talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, and knowledge of employment laws. This is a unique opportunity to shape and grow the HR function in a dynamic and evolving organization in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract, retain, and promote a diverse workforce.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
- Nurture a positive working environment.
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the company.
- Proven working experience as an HR Manager or other HR Executive for a minimum of 5 years.
- People-oriented and results-driven.
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Experience in the construction industry, particularly heavy civil and industrial construction, is highly desirable.
- A degree in Human Resources or related field; a Master’s degree and HR certification would be a plus.
