Job Details
This is a highly responsible management position overseeing the all instructional personnel and all components of
training to prepare students for the Commercial Drivers License (CDL). This position is directly involved with the
quality of training, the retention of students and successful outcomes of the students. Also is responsible to oversee
the inspection and maintenance of the school’s trucks and equipment, safety, and security issues.
Required Qualifications
Must meet the minimum educational requirements set by state, federal, and accrediting agencies for Directors of Education.
State certification/approval as a CDL instructor.
Must possess a valid CDL license.
Proven knowledge of the requirements for instructor training, skills instruction, classroom instruction, and supervisory experience within the trucking industry or at a tractor training school.
Significant experience in driving tractor trailers and/or vehicle repair.
Must meet DOT driver qualification file requirements.
Demonstrated genuine concern and positive attitude towards the success of students, and carriers, along with a passion for helping people.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Patience in working with students and staff.
Ability to motivate and mentor both staff and students, showing enthusiasm for the program, and the progress and success of both staff and students.
Skilled in public speaking with the ability to articulate ideas clearly.
Skills/Competencies
Extensive experience with training programs, governmental requirements, and funding sources.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, creative, and resourceful, with strong decision-making abilities, follow-through, and a collaborative approach to achieving corporate objectives while coordinating and managing campus activities.
Ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students while advocating for the school and the assigned campus.
