Job Details
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of employment litigation, including responding to complaints, conducting discovery, drafting motions, attending depositions, negotiating settlements, and representing the company at trial.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment-related issues, such as discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination cases, and non-compete agreements.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate litigation risk and protect the company's interests.
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team and work closely with HR and management to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on current trends and developments in employment law.
- Draft and review various legal documents, such as employment contracts, severance agreements, and company policies.
- Conduct training sessions for HR and management on employment laws and best practices to prevent litigation.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in employment litigation, with a strong focus on litigation defense.
- Admission to the state Bar and in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience managing employment litigation cases from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
