- Troubleshoot mechanical devices during operation
- Dismantle and examine devices to gain access to defective parts
- Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts as needed
- Operate shop machinery, including drill presses, grinders, band saws, cutting torches, and welders
- Use hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair equipment
- Install new or repair/modify electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Improve equipment reliability and up-time through proactive maintenance
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules
