Responsibilities

As a Permanent Litigation Attorney, you will

• Represent clients in litigation involving water rights, water quality, and other natural resource issues.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to public agencies on matters related to water law and natural resources.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to water law and natural resources.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on complex water law and natural resource issues.
• Advise clients on compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Participate in the development and implementation of strategies to protect and manage water resources.
• Work collaboratively with other attorneys, clients, and stakeholders to resolve disputes and achieve client goals.
  
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on water law and natural resources (not required but an interest in water and natural resources)
• Exceptional legal writing and research skills.
• A strong understanding of water law, natural resource law, and public agency law.
• Experience representing public agencies in litigation and administrative proceedings.
• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
• A commitment to environmental sustainability and the protection of natural resources.
