Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Intellectual Property Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our hybrid services, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of intellectual property rights, including patent prosecution, product clearance, and trademarking.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee the preparation and prosecution of patent applications and manage the patent portfolios of the company.
2. Conduct product clearance studies and risk assessments for new products and technologies.
3. Provide legal advice and guidance on all matters related to intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
4. Collaborate with engineers and product development teams to identify patentable inventions and ensure protection of intellectual property rights.
5. Monitor and enforce intellectual property rights, including managing potential infringements and litigations.
6. Provide training and education to the company staff on intellectual property matters.
7. Stay up-to-date with changes in intellectual property laws and regulations and advise the company accordingly.
Qualifications
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a current license to practice law.
2. Registered Patent Agent with the USPTO.
3. Minimum of 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, specifically in patent prosecution and product clearance.
4. Strong technical background in electrical engineering, software, and medical devices.
5. Proven experience in managing patent portfolios and trademarking.
6. Excellent knowledge of US and international intellectual property laws and regulations.
7. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
8. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Experience in the tech services industry is a plus.
10. Experience in acute care settings is preferred but not mandatory.
