The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, with a deep understanding of UKG, Multi-State, Wage Garnishments, and payroll taxes. Responsibilities
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities
- Manage and execute end-to-end payroll operations for our multi-state workforce, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Utilize UKG payroll software to maintain accurate payroll records, including employee data, hours worked, wage rates, deductions, and garnishments.
- Stay updated with changing payroll tax laws across multiple states and ensure our company’s compliance with these laws.
- Handle wage garnishments, levies, and other special payroll deductions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide relevant payroll reports.
- Assist with year-end tasks such as W-2 distribution and tax reporting.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct regular audits of our payroll system to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in UKG or similar payroll software.
- Extensive knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws and wage garnishments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong numerical skills and the ability to handle large volumes of data.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex payroll issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll information clearly.
- A high level of professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
