Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Estimator for Commercial Construction who can effectively estimate costs for our commercial construction projects. As a Permanent Estimator for Commercial Construction, you will be integral to our project planning and execution process.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing the project's plans and specifications and identifying factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor.
- Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists for commercial projects.
- Conduct a 'take off' which involves quantifying and pricing the amount of materials and labor necessary for a construction project.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and engineers to gather detailed information about a project.
- Analyze company data, monitor budgets, and price supplies to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best prices and quality for materials and labor.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for project management, data analysis, and communication.
- Maintain records of estimated and actual costs, updating information as necessary to provide accurate and timely data for decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- A proven track record of successfully estimating and managing commercial construction projects.
- Proficiency in 'take off' procedures and purchasing for construction projects.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and project management.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
