In the fast-paced world of finance, safety is of paramount importance. As a Permanent Safety Manager, you will be directly responsible for ensuring a safe and secure working environment for our team. This includes training the sanitation workforce in safe work practices, developing and maintaining a safe and effective work environment, and providing support and guidance to the Operations and Farm team on Safety compliance. You will also be responsible for ensuring implementation and compliance with the Company’s IIPP and other EHS policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, a high level of strategic thinking and planning, and an ability to lead and manage change.

Job Details
In the fast-paced world of finance, safety is of paramount importance. As a Permanent Safety Manager, you will be directly responsible for ensuring a safe and secure working environment for our team. This includes training the sanitation workforce in safe work practices, developing and maintaining a safe and effective work environment, and providing support and guidance to the Operations and Farm team on Safety compliance. You will also be responsible for ensuring implementation and compliance with the Company’s IIPP and other EHS policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, a high level of strategic thinking and planning, and an ability to lead and manage change.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an annual safety action plan
- Draft and revise safety policies as needed and oversee distribution to applicable employees and contractors
- Develop and deliver ongoing and effective safety training for contractors and employees
- Serve as management trainer – teach and hold managers accountable for safety training and consulting with their employees
- Develop Tailgate Training curriculum specific to injury/near miss trends
- Ensure contractors follow all safety and equipment work practices
- Maintain and update Safety SOP’s
- Oversee the site Safety Training Plan
- Conduct periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of the workplace
- Conduct, monitor, and document Safety Trainings
- Schedule Safety Training Certifications
- Conduct accident and injury investigations under the direction of HR
- Become a certified trainer in designated trainings
- Maintain required safety documents and files in a central location
- Maintain logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular, comprehensive on-site safety assessments and monitor corrective actions taken
- Develop and administer an effective Safety Incentive Program
- Conduct job hazard analysis
- Conduct annual refresher training
- Perform other duties as assigned to support and improve the overall operation
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to train and educate employees on safety practices
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and EHS policies
- Ability to conduct safety inspections and assessments
- Experience in accident and injury investigations
- Certified trainer in designated trainings is a plus
- Proven ability to maintain safety documents and files
- Experience in developing and administering Safety Incentive Programs
- Ability to conduct job hazard analysis and annual refresher training
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned to support and improve the overall operation.
