We are seeking a dynamic, highly-skilled, and experienced Permanent Senior Estimator for Marine & Heavy Civil Projects in the Construction industry. The successful candidate will join our team of professionals, working on a diverse portfolio of projects, and will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of estimating functions for marine and heavy civil projects. Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of estimates for marine and heavy civil construction projects, including quantity take-offs, crew composition, and cost analysis.
- Review and interpret civil and marine construction plans and specifications to develop detailed, comprehensive cost estimates.
- Coordinate with project management teams to develop project schedules and work plans.
- Engage in client and vendor negotiations and discussions to ensure competitive pricing and optimal terms.
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor proposals and make recommendations for award.
- Prepare and present estimate reports and project budgets to senior management and clients.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current market conditions and trends to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Collaborate with the project team in risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Continually improve processes and systems to increase accuracy and efficiency in estimating.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the estimating team.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil and marine construction projects.
- Proven track record of preparing successful estimates for large-scale marine and heavy civil projects.
- Strong leadership skills with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
