Role Overview

This position plays a vital role in assisting the company with the development, management, and ongoing maintenance of its computer network, applications, hardware, and telecommunications infrastructure. The individual in this role will demonstrate strong technical expertise, applying knowledge to ensure the smooth operation of networks and applications while maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help Desk Operations
  • Collaborate closely with the Arizona IT Helpdesk to provide both first- and second-level support for IT issues and service requests.
  • Ensure the proper escalation of unresolved queries or tickets to the appropriate support levels.
  • Monitor and manage the assignment, scheduling, and closure of support tickets.
  • Proactively follow up with users to provide feedback and ensure issues are resolved effectively.
  • End User Support
  • Deploy new IT hardware (including computers, mobile devices, radios, and peripherals) for new hires and contractors, ensuring proper configuration of accounts and access to shared drives.
  • Onboard new employees and contractors, providing training on IT systems, applications, mobile phones, login processes, printers, security configurations, and internal networks.
  • Regularly update and deploy patches or upgrades in compliance with company policies and business needs.
  • Offer technical training and support for users across a range of systems including desktop OS, printing systems, video conferencing, mobile and radio communications, and various technical applications.
  • Monitor and maintain cybersecurity protocols and ensure software licensing compliance.
  • Liaise with IT vendors and service providers to guarantee timely and efficient service delivery, adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), and prompt issue resolution.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to exceed user expectations and ensure high levels of IT user satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 5 years of relevant work experience. Certification such as A , Microsoft, and Cisco certifications is preferred.
  • Industry Experience Experience in the mining industry is advantageous.
  • Technical Expertise
  • Strong understanding of networking and distributed computing concepts.
  • Proficiency in routing principles, client/server programming, and network-wide file system design.
  • Solid knowledge of operating systems, performance tuning, paging/swapping, and inter-process communications.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, L2TP, BGP, MPLS, PPP, and OSPF.
  • Comprehensive understanding of QoS (Quality of Service) techniques and their implementation.
  • Systems Knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with VoIP, LTE, field radio communications, L3 switching/routing, mesh networks, and Cisco routers and switches.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Server environments, Exchange servers, Active Directory, and LDAP management.
  • Extensive experience managing and supporting Cisco hardware/software, including routers, switches, security appliances, and wireless access points.

  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Administration Perform any additional administrative tasks as required by the business.
