Purpose Of Role
To support the Company in developing and maintaining the company's computer network, various applications, hardware, and related telecommunications equipment. This position demonstrates technical experience and a commitment to applying expertise in implementing and maintaining various technologies to maintain the company's networks and applications operating efficiently, while maintaining a secure environment.

Purpose Of Role

Role Accountabilities
May carry out a wide range of professional activities using general or specialized professional knowledge/skills, including, but not limited to:
- Help Desk Operations
- Work in close coordination with the Arizona IT Helpdesk to provide first and second level support and resolutions to customer IT issues and requests.
- Properly escalate unresolved queries and/or tickets to the appropriate level of support.
- Monitor the assignment, scheduling, and closure of support tickets.
- Follow up with users, provide feedback and see problems through to resolution.
- End User Support
- Deploy new computer hardware and software, mobile phones, radios, and peripherals for new and current (upgrade) employees and contractors, working with the Helpdesk to make sure all relevant account and shared drives access is properly activated and configured.
- Greet and train new employees and contractors in the use of their IT equipment, including setting up their accounts, mobile phone, login process, intranet access, internal application access, shared drives setup, printers, security applications configuration and assigned applications.
- Monitor and provide required patches and/or updates and upgrades in line with corporate IT policies and the USBU’s business requirements.
- Provide technical training and support to users on desktop operating systems and packages, printing systems, video conferencing systems, mobile and radio communications, and standard and technical applications.
- Monitor and ensure cybersecurity and software licensing compliance.
- Engage with IT vendors and service providers to ensure seamless delivery of solutions, adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), and timely resolution of issues.
- Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed users’ expectations to maintain high levels of IT user satisfaction from Hudbay employees and contractors.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 5 years of related experience. A certification, Microsoft, and Cisco certifications or a combination is preferred.
- Experience working in the mining industry is a plus.
- Possess a solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understand principles of routing, client/server programming, and the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts.
- Solid understanding of operating systems; paging and swapping, inter- process communications, devices and device drivers, file system concepts (node, clustering, logical partitions), performance analysis (to tune systems).
- Have extensive experience in TCP/IP, L2TP, BGP, MPLS, PPP, OSPF
- Have a thorough understanding of QoS techniques and implementation.
- Technical knowledge and experience with the following: VoIP, LTE, Field Radio Communications, L3 switching/routing, Network management tools, mesh networks, and Cisco routers and switches.
- Extensive experience with implementing, maintaining, and monitoring Microsoft Server environments, Exchange server environments, Active Directory and LDAP.
- Have a thorough working knowledge and experience with implementing, maintaining, monitoring Cisco hardware and software including routers, switches, Adaptive Security Appliance devices, and wireless access points.
- Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and work positively with others in a team environment, including skills like active listening, conflict resolution, empathy, and adaptability to achieve shared goals
- Perform related business administration work as required.
