We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Permanent Senior Project Accountant in the Construction industry. This role is crucial to our business's financial health, as it is responsible for managing the financial aspects of our construction projects. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of project accounting and job costing. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects and contribute to our company's growth and success.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Accountant, you will

• Oversee the financial management of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Prepare and analyze job cost reports, identifying any discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage the billing process, including the preparation of progress billings and the tracking of receivables.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and forecasts.
• Use project accounting software such as Sage, GL, Vista Viewpoint, and Timberline to manage project finances.
• Apply the percent of completion method to recognize revenue and expenses.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Senior Project Accountant role will have

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in project accounting software such as Sage, GL, Vista Viewpoint, and Timberline.
• Solid understanding of job costing and the percent of completion method.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and other team members.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• A proactive approach to work, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and implement effective solutions.
