We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of property accounting for a portfolio of properties, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our financial data and requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Responsibilities :
1. Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties.
2. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Perform CAM Reconciliations and ensure accurate billing and collection of tenant recoveries.
4. Utilize Yardi software to manage financial data, generate reports, and streamline accounting processes.
5. Coordinate with the property management team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property-level financial results.
6. Assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets and forecasts for assigned properties.
7. Monitor and analyze property operating expenses and provide recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
9. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
10. Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual audit.
11. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the real estate industry.
3. Proficient in Yardi property management software.
4. In-depth knowledge of CAM Reconciliations.
5. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. CPA designation or working towards obtaining a CPA designation is considered an asset.
