We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sheet Metal Technical Lead to join our dynamic and growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all sheet metal operations, ensuring the production of high-quality products and the effective utilization of resources in our manufacturing facility. The role requires the application of advanced technical skills, a deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, and the ability to lead a team towards operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all activities related to sheet metal fabrication including forming, riveting, swedging, and brake press operations.
• Interpret and work from detailed blueprints, GD&T, and 3D tolerance calculations to ensure accurate production.
• Implement and maintain Lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Conduct regular quality checks using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges, ensuring all products meet set specifications.
• Perform hands-on tasks such as polishing, burr removal, break edge operations, and radi operations to ensure the highest quality finish on all products.
• Operate and maintain a variety of machinery including drill presses, sanders, girt blast machines, and CNC machines.
• Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
• Manage resources effectively, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all company policies and industry regulations.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment, with a focus on technical leadership.
• Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication techniques such as forming, riveting, swedging, and brake press operations.
• Extensive knowledge of blueprints, GD&T, and 3D tolerance calculations.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining machinery such as drill presses, sanders, girt blast machines, and CNC machines.
• Solid understanding and experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Commitment to safety and understanding of industry regulations and standards.
