The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all tax-related activities, including tax planning, compliance, and advisory services. You will be the go-to expert for all tax-related matters and will play a crucial role in our financial planning. This position requires a deep understanding of Puerto Rico and US tax laws and proficiency in using Thomson Reuters.ResponsibilitiesManage client relationshipsIdentify potential tax planning opportunitiesCollaborate with firm director and other tax managers on unclear tax laws and potential planning opportunitiesTax return reviewClient Communications, Puerto Rico Department of the Treasury Representation, and IRS Representation (as assigned)Budget Review w / Practice Manager & Firm DirectorHelp implement efficiencies to ensure projects are within budgeted timeImplementation of scope of client projectEnsure consistency in tax return and accounting deliverablesProcess and / or review highly complex individual & business returnsResearch / resolve tax issues and implement creative ideasCost benefit analysisTax Pro Client Management – Quarterly Review of Books, Tax Projections, Calls and in-person meetings with client to review & project potential tax liabilitiesCoordinate tasks ranging from basic accounting and bookkeeping to complex entity structuringCommunicate options and alternative scenarios to clients to provide valueReview financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliationsFuture responsibilities based on growth / scaleStaff training and developmentDelegate return preparation to the most cost-effective staffQualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; master’s degree preferredMinimum 4 years of experience in tax and advisoryIn-depth knowledge of Puerto Rico and U.S. tax lawsMUST HAVE Experience with ACT 60Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsBilingual in English and SpanishProficiency in tax and accounting software (Thomson Reuters preferred)Excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsCPA / EA / Attorney or working towards certification is a plusEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAccounting / Auditing and FinanceIndustriesAccounting, Financial Services, and Banking#J-18808-Ljbffr
