Responsibilities
As a Permanent Trademark Attorney, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- Providing expert legal advice on a wide range of trademark issues including trademark registration, protection, enforcement, licensing, and dispute resolution.
- Conducting comprehensive trademark searches and providing clear, concise, and practical advice to clients on the registrability of trademarks.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of trademark-related agreements and documents, such as licensing agreements, co-existence agreements, and assignment agreements.
- Representing clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
- Advising clients on trademark portfolio management and strategy, including the development and implementation of brand protection strategies.
Qualifications
To be considered for the role of Permanent Trademark Attorney, you must have
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Illinois Bar.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in trademark law, preferably within a law firm environment.
- Extensive knowledge of trademark law and practice, including experience in trademark prosecution, enforcement, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
