Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Programs Assistant with a minimum of five (5) years of expertise in at least two of the following areas : Fleet Management, Roadway Programs Management, Emergency Operations, or Budgeting. The role involves coordinating maintenance programs, managing budgets, overseeing fleet operations, and serving as a liaison between departments to ensure the smooth execution of maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with maintenance programs management to address operational needs and develop solutions for challenges.
- Act as a liaison between the maintenance programs team and other departments to ensure smooth coordination of projects.
- Track and forecast labor, equipment, and material requirements for operations.
- Assist in developing and reviewing operating and capital budgets for maintenance.
- Represent the Maintenance Department in executive capital plan meetings.
- Create training materials and implement new programs within the Maintenance Department.
- Plan and organize Maintenance Fleet unit operations, including work assignments and review.
- Manage the equipment disposal process, including identifying surplus or obsolete equipment and recommending maintenance or replacement actions.
- Oversee equipment acquisition by developing specifications, accepting deliveries, and distributing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state legislation regarding vehicle and equipment operations.
- Evaluate existing, new, and experimental equipment for maintenance suitability.
- Maintain situational awareness to anticipate and prevent accidents.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
