The client is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will manage the credentialing and privileging process for physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and locum tenens, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and CMS requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
Coordinate credentialing for initial appointments, reappointments, and temporary privileges.
- Evaluate primary source responses, addressing any red flags to avoid delays.
- Monitor and update licensures, certificates, and malpractice renewals.
- Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and confidential correspondence for Credentials and Interdisciplinary Practice Committees.
- Manage new physician orientation and maintain demographic information in the credentialing database.
- Collaborate with IT to enhance reporting capabilities and ensure compliance with new privileging criteria.
- Support daily operations and assist the Program Manager with meeting management and recommendations to the Medical Executive Committee.
- Lead the ongoing review of privileging criteria and assist physician leaders in meeting regulatory standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of credentialing / privileging processes and regulatory requirements.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in medical staff databases and generating reports.
- Excellent organizational and workload management abilities.
- Ability to critically analyze primary source documentation.
Qualifications : Required Education :
Bachelor's degree
Certifications :
CPCS or CPMSM National Certification (ongoing education to maintain certification required)
Experience :
Minimum 3 years in a hospital medical staff office performing similar duties.
