Overview :
The Sourcing Specialist (Mid Level) will play a crucial role in executing sourcing strategies for assigned commodities within the purchase family. This position works closely with Sourcing Managers and product segments to ensure the achievement of business objectives related to cost management, supplier performance, and sourcing optimization. The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for both direct and indirect sourcing activities, including cost analysis, supplier selection, performance monitoring, and process improvements. The role involves strategic supplier initiatives and is pivotal in driving competitive advantage, cost productivity, and fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Direct Sourcing Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute local sourcing strategies to ensure competitive advantage in sourcing for assigned commodities.
- Drive supplier selection, development, and consolidation for sourcing optimization and performance enhancement.
- Perform detailed cost analysis of components and manufacturing processes, aiming for the highest quality at the lowest cost.
- Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance, working on improvement strategies to meet business needs.
- Partner with local business stakeholders to ensure materials and services sourced align with business needs and goals.
- Engage in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, building strong relationships with strategic suppliers for long-term partnership.
- Indirect Sourcing Responsibilities :
- Drive business productivity metrics through indirect sourcing efforts.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, implement operational efficiencies, and improve productivity across various functions.
- Lead initiatives within the P&L to ensure accuracy, cost savings, and operational efficiency.
- Promote digitization and simplification of sourcing processes, including policy recommendations, employee communications, and management dashboards for individual spend controls.
- Sourcing Process Improvement :
- Drive continuous improvements in sourcing processes, addressing challenges such as delivery and quality issues, invoicing discrepancies, and database management.
- Implement and manage improvement strategies related to supplier performance, sourcing methods, and cost reduction efforts.
- Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, OR
- 5 years of relevant work experience in the assigned commodity
- Minimum 3 years of work experience with deep technical knowledge in the assigned commodities.
- 3 years of Commercial Sourcing or Supply Chain experience with a focus on driving cost savings and supplier performance.
- Skills :
- Strong analytical skills for cost analysis and process optimization.
- Supplier management expertise, with a focus on building long-term, strategic relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Project management skills, with experience driving sourcing strategies and managing initiatives.
- Proficiency with sourcing tools, supply chain software, and ERP systems.
- Experience in indirect sourcing and improving business productivity metrics.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in sourcing and supply chain management.
