Position Overview
The Communications Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on communication experience and will work closely with team members related to external communications, social media, graphic design, partner relationships, and project management. The position is 15-20 hours weekly and will work under the supervision of the Director of Strategic Advancement as well as other members of the JAG-K staff. JAG-K will work around the student’s class schedule.

Position Competencies
- Assist with social media platforms, including creating content, monitoring accounts, engagement, and analytics
- Assist with website content and management, online tool platforms, and database management
- Help develop and execute multi-faceted marketing and communications strategies
- Assist with the implementation and administration of the JAG-Kansas alumni association
- Assist with internal office duties and administrative tasks as well as other duties assigned by Strategic Advancement
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in work and/or academics regarding journalism, public relations, and non-profits
- Basic understanding of both traditional and social media
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members at all levels, leaders and members of other organizations, and media representatives
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Technology proficient including virtual meeting platforms, school technology, and various media programs
- Applicant must be a 3rd or 4th year student pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, graphic design, public policy, or related field.
