Compensation: The salary range for this role is $30-$38 USD per hour.

The Team & Role
Gem IT is a highly collaborative & support oriented team dedicated to creating the best IT
experience for our Gem employees. We are seeking a IT Support Specialist to be the face of IT
for the employee experience: this includes but is not limited to IT helpdesk support, regular
maintenance and improvements to office technologies, and ensuring all Gem’s are able to do
their best work. Our ideal candidate has a passion for technology, has sound critical thinkingabilities, works calm and collected under pressure, and is eager to support users of various
skillsets. This position is listed as part time but may have the opportunity to grow into a full-time
position as the business grows. This is a hybrid role requiring two days onsite at our SF
office downtown.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
● Use our ticketing workflow to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot IT-related topics to find
the best technical solutions to unblock Gem employees
● Help with ordering and procuring IT equipment, patch management of IT hardware
assets, maintenance of conference rooms and office technology, and assist with weekly
All Hands & company virtual events.
● Help administer and manage a wide variety of SaaS apps; provision/modify/remove
access as needed. Experience with developing SaaS workflow efficiencies and
automations a plus.
● Create and maintain knowledge base articles to boost self-serve support

● Able to communicate effectively and concisely to the entire company including executive
staff
● 5-star customer service mindset while supporting our global workforce, both in-office and
remote employees, and business partners
● Embody Gem’s core values of diversity, ownership, velocity, and customer focus — you
have the ability to not only juggle multiple priorities but look for areas to take ownership
and run autonomously in a challenging and fast-paced environment
● Strong knowledge of MacOS and some familiarity with Windows, Linux, iOS and Android
device troubleshooting. (MDM experience w/Kandji a plus)
● Some basic networking knowledge
● A desire to learn and expand your horizons; take on new challenges and look for new
efficiencies as the business scales
