The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) is seeking a contractor to develop and deliver the course EC2650: Fundamentals of Electromagnetic Fields for the Spring 2025 academic quarter (March June). This course, which will be taught in both in-residence and distance learning formats, covers electromagnetic field theory, including static and dynamic electric and magnetic field theory, Maxwell's equations, wave propagation, transmission lines, and practical microwave laboratory experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
Course Development (March 1 30, 2025):
- Update and refine existing course materials, including curriculum, lesson plans, and labs, to ensure alignment with course objectives and a productive learning environment.
- Teach both the on-site and distance learning sections of the course, monitoring student performance and promoting graduate-level understanding of electromagnetic fields.
- Ensure a balanced, engaging, and effective course experience through the use of Government-provided course management systems and collaboration platforms.
- Utilize existing NPS course materials, lesson plans, and web applications to support instruction. Access to academic tracking systems and other relevant resources will be provided.
Education: Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in course development and delivery at the undergraduate level.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience with Electromagnetic Fields and Maxwell's Equations.
- Course Development: March 1 30, 2025
- Course Delivery: March 31 June 18, 2025 (exact schedule provided prior to course start)
- Course development can occur remotely or at NPS.
- The course delivery will be conducted in an NPS classroom for the in-residence section, with the distance learning section taught using Government-provided platforms.
- The contractor will be provided with course materials, lesson plans, access to academic tracking systems, and office space. All provided resources are for official Government use only.
- This position requires a high level of expertise in Electromagnetic Fields and the ability to teach complex topics at a graduate level while utilizing modern online and in-person teaching tools.
