Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Acute Care RN Manager to oversee the Emergency and Medical-Surgical Departments. This role holds 24-hour accountability for managing personnel, fiscal resources, and department operations while ensuring high-quality patient care. The RN Manager will coordinate staff scheduling, monitor staffing records and statistics, and lead the nursing team in day-to-day operations. This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and utilizes the nursing process and Five Pillars framework (Stewardship, Quality, Service, People, and Growth) to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the Emergency and Medical-Surgical Departments.
- Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling based on patient acuity.
- Maintain staffing records, performance metrics, and compliance standards.
- Supervise and provide leadership to assigned personnel.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
- Oversee departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to state and federal healthcare regulations.
- Report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and assist in strategic planning.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active California RN license – Required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN) – Preferred.
- Previous experience in nursing management within an Acute Care, ER, or Med-Surg setting – Required.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications – Preferred.
