Join the HJF Team!HJF is seeking a Education Director - Leadership Instruction and Design Development to lead and manage a diverse education & educational research portfolio, conceptualizing education projects that are well-aligned with the current priorities of the disaster health field, federal initiatives, and the needs of the National Center and its funders. An independently direct the design and development of education products, educational research, and publications in disaster medicine and public health in collaboration with other staff and stakeholders.This position will be in support of USU-PESMOA, SOM-BDE.The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing, and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyzing, designing, developing, and validating leader education products for the USU leader development program. Evaluating and making recommendations for curricula enhancement, developing valid instruments to assess the development of students, and capturing best practices through research, professional development, and other learning opportunities.Provides academic advice and support to the School of Medicine, Graduate School of Nursing, Postgraduate Dental College, College of Allied Health Sciences, staff and instructors, including planning, preparing, and conducting classroom instruction of leadership for students and faculty.Surveying learner perspectives about education and development sessions, as well as conducting conceptual reviews, surveys, quantitative and qualitative leadership research. Conducting scholarly reviews of relevant literature and translating scientific materials and evidence so that it can be effectively taught and disseminated.Stakeholder Engagement : Develops strategic partnerships and facilitates collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Collects and analyzes organizational information and prepares reports regarding education program budget information, staffing, educational outcomes, and administrative activities to recommend solutions to problems or improvements.Maintaining program evaluation data and managing educational files and databases on department programs and operations.Provide scheduling, meeting, and seminar support. Coordinates support for Medical Field Practicums, Joint Exercises, and garrison missions.Assists in drafting Leader and Professional Development policies and forms as well as processing faculty appointment applications and letters of recommendation.Preparing, analyzing, and presenting reports and program status. This includes analyzing training and travel costs and coordinating travel and program activities with the finance and travel offices.Coordinate site selection and rotations during the Summer Leader Program and to educate and support students on how to arrange rotations, request orders, and request / reconcile travel.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.

QualificationsEducation and ExperienceMaster’s Degree required in education (M.Ed) preferred, or MPH with CHES or other education and / or health science related degree. Doctoral degree in education or EEd preferred, or other education or disaster medicine or public health related degree preferred.9-10 years experience required.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesJob requires a wide range of skills including education and educational research, excellent portfolio leadership and management, and ability to work with a variety of staff members and stakeholders effectively at all levels.Other skills include problem-solving, teamwork, organization & planning : analytical, complex, and timely decision-making, relationship-building : and computer / software.Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 / Public Trust background check.Physical CapabilitiesAbility to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.Work EnvironmentThis position will take place primarily in an office setting.CompensationThe annual salary range for this position is $100,500 - 186,600.
