About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and mission-driven Gift Processing Coordinator to join our Development Operations team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Development Operations, this role is essential in ensuring the timely, accurate processing and acknowledgment of all donations—including gifts, pledges, matching contributions, and in-kind support. You'll also play a key part in supporting fundraising events, reporting, and ongoing database integrity. Key Responsibilities: Gift Processing & Acknowledgment
- Accurately process and audit gifts including checks, credit cards, stocks, wire transfers, and gifts-in-kind
- Manage daily batch processing and reconcile donations
- Oversee donor acknowledgment processes and optimize for efficiency
- Generate, review, and send acknowledgment letters and tax receipts
- Handle adjustments and corrections to gift records as needed
- Maintain accurate donor and gift records in Raiser’s Edge
- Perform regular audits and cleanups of duplicate or incomplete records
- Run data queries and exports; create and maintain analytical reports using Excel and Crystal Reports
- Create and manage ImportOmatic profiles for gift entry and event tracking
- Support data entry for prospect research and electronic gift documentation
- Assist with fundraising event logistics including gift tracking, registration, and auction oversight
- Prepare mailing lists and manage donor communications (email & USPS)
- Serve as a key liaison for gift inquiries from internal teams and departments
- Train development staff on gift entry and Raiser’s Edge best practices
- Contribute to the development of internal gift processing protocols and training guides
- Suggest and implement improvements to streamline gift operations and enhance donor experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 2-4 years of experience in a development or nonprofit fundraising office, with a strong preference for candidates with gift processing and database experience
- Proficient in Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM (Blackbaud experience preferred)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Outstanding organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to manage confidential donor data with discretion and professionalism
