- Develop accurate bid proposals, including quantity take-offs, crew composition, and pricing.
- Use 3D estimating software (Ag-Tek or Carlson Civil Software preferred).
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and job progress.
- Negotiate, secure, and manage subcontractors and vendor contracts.
- Analyze bid pricing vs. historical data.
- Oversee site superintendents, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Be the primary communicator with project owners, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Read and interpret specifications and plans, ensuring clear communication to field staff.
- Review material submittals and obtain necessary approvals.
- Handle change order pricing and negotiations.
- Represent the company in the field, selling jobs and fostering client relationships.
- Attend pre-bid meetings with owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Identify private sector opportunities beyond public bidding.
- Act as the face of the company, easing the owner's workload.
