Ground-Up New Commercial Construction Superintendent
JRJ Construction is seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent with experience completing ground-up new construction projects with costs between $3,000,000 and $40,000,000.

Our Ground-Up Construction Team primarily focuses on corporate office spaces, dealerships, manufacturing, warehouse spaces, and non-profit organizations. We build in other sectors of the construction industry as well, including civic, commercial, hospitality, medical, mixed-use, Government, and retail.

Responsibilities
- Schedule and motivate subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, etc. to ensure the overall scope and schedule are known and maintained.
- Perform quality control duties, and responsibilities regarding the work being performed as per project documents.
- Follow up and assist with changes, RFI's, submittals, purchase orders, material orders, and deliveries with subcontractors and the management team.
- Review the scope of work for each subcontractor to make sure of their compliance with construction documents and their contract requirements.
- Coordinate required inspections with the proper jurisdictions.
- Know and manage the project in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and all state and local requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Establish and enforce job site quality control programs to ensure the quality and timely completion of construction.
- Help in the development of a schedule before construction and managing that schedule throughout the project. That will include maintaining a 2-week look-ahead schedule for the duration of the project.
- Schedule and preside over weekly safety meetings and all safety requirements on-site.
- Review and understand the relevant project documents before beginning each new phase of work.
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with required subcontractors before beginning each new phase of work. To make sure the expectations will be met.
- Maintain copies of all required site documents in an organized manner. Including As-built, change orders, submittal specifications, permit drawings, and all revisions to documents.
- Review and maintain the budgetary requirements of the project with the management team.
- Provide directions to and resolve problems amongst subcontractors and vendors.
- Review subcontract scope for completion of work.
- Ability to identify and resolve field issues preventing schedule delays.
- Provide daily progress reports, schedule updates, site photos, and As-builts.
- Inspect and enforce safety policies.
- knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and construction codes. Minimum 10hr OSHA Cert.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills with the ability to process all digital construction documents. (Print, scan upload/download documents, e-mail, and work in a cloud environment.)
- Speaks clearly and directly with integrity and honesty.
- Writes clearly, informatively, and professionally in all correspondence.
- Must be well organized with outstanding attention to detail.
- Must always maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
- Needs the ability to hold and document weekly site progress meetings if called on.
- Office 365, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat skills.
- Scheduling experience.
Qualifications
- 5 - 10 Years of construction experience.
- Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
- Ground-up construction experience is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of construction means and methods specifically in the North Texas market.
- Computer literate.
- Must have experience using MS Office software (Excel, Word, Teams & Outlook).
- Construction scheduling software experience is a plus.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Physical Demands
- This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
- The ability to proficiently manage the project using an on-site computer.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Location: North Central Texas.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary will be commensurate with experience & will be discussed upon initial interview.
- Accrued Paid Vacation and Paid Holidays to include New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, ½ Day Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and ½ Day New Year's Eve. Eligibility begins the first of the month following completed 60 days of employment.
- 401K – Employer to match 100% up to 3% of employee contributions plus 50% up to 5%. Eligibility begins next January or July following your completion of 60 days of employment.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Insurance for Employee – Eligible first of the month following completed 60 days of employment Employer will cover 75% of Employee Cost.
