Position Summary
The Part-Time Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of Joey Gilbert Law. This position is responsible for managing the firm’s accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, preferably with experience in the legal sector, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting to optimize the firm’s financial health.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Assist in developing financial strategies to support the firm’s growth and efficiency.
- Work closely with the leadership team to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Support audits, both internal and external, as required.
- Monitor and manage firm expenses, ensuring accuracy and appropriate documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Proven experience with QuickBooks is required.
- Experience in a legal environment is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks experience required) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
