Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and FRIENDLY Sandwich Maker/Counter helper to join our team in a fast-paced take out deli environment. We are a family owned and run deli. Our food is homemade, our customers are like family. If you are interested in joining our already amazing team, stop in and fill out an application. Sorry no high schoolers. You must be available between 10 a -6 pm m-f and Saturday 10-3pm.
Duties
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches according to customer specifications and menu standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all operational procedures.
- Utilize POS systems for order processing and payment transactions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a café or quick-service food restaurant is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations is a plus.
- Basic understanding of retail math for handling transactions accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends as needed.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in the kitchen.
- 18 years or older is a must
- Sense of humor
