Position Summary:
Join our team as a Sanitation Supervisor, where you’ll play a key role in maintaining our commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. In this leadership role, you will manage sanitation personnel, oversee daily operations, and partner with the Sanitation Manager to ensure our facility meets the highest cleanliness and regulatory standards. This position offers the opportunity to lead, train, and inspire a team while contributing to the production of safe, high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise sanitation employees across various shifts, including rotating weekend shifts.
- Hire, train, manage workloads, and conduct performance reviews and goal-setting for staff.
- Train new team members on cleaning procedures (SSOPs), chemical usage, and safety protocols.
- Sanitation Operations:
- Oversee all sanitation functions and ensure tasks align with production schedules and master sanitation plans.
- Manage major cleaning projects in collaboration with production supervisors.
- Maintain cleaning and chemical usage logs, and ensure proper inventory storage for all sanitation supplies.
- Efficiency & Compliance:
- Optimize staffing to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Manage labor and budgets effectively.
- Lead the preparation and execution of sanitation audits, ensuring compliance with current good manufacturing practices (GMP), allergen controls, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
- Safety & Collaboration:
- Foster a strong safety culture by practicing and promoting safe work behaviors.
- Report potential hazards and conduct safety observations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to share knowledge, skills, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment (required).
- Supervisory experience is essential.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of sanitation chemicals and food handling processes (preferred).
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to follow verbal directions and communicate effectively in English; Spanish fluency is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
