The AP Accounting Manager will oversee key accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Cash Applications, General Ledger, and Treasury Support. This role is responsible for the management and supervision of accounting specialists while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily cash report packages, including affiliate A/R reconciliation.
- Research A/R payments to ensure accurate cash applications and process client ACH transactions.
- Oversee registration of all new payers/vendors to ensure electronic setups are completed accurately.
- Supervise manual cash posting, ensuring correct adjustment codes and appropriate payment postings.
- Collaborate with departments to correct posting errors and identify root causes.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly, addressing variances promptly.
- Prepare quarterly bank compliance reports to ensure adherence to covenants.
- Assist in preparing financial statements per firm guidelines and requirements.
- Manage journal entries, invoices, and account reconciliations for monthly and annual close.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the AP Team.
- Conduct financial analysis to support operational functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong leadership and team management skills to guide and develop accounting professionals.
- Analytical problem-solving abilities to drive effective solutions and process improvements.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows and pivot priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or General Ledger management.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
