Job Description:
Seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join a consulting engineering team in the power and energy industry. This position is for a highly motivated individual who is interested in all aspects of industrial power generation & distribution, including generators, battery energy storage and photovoltaic power systems.
The successful candidate in this position will design Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution systems for industrial power generation & distribution projects. In this role, the successful candidate will also provide engineering support for utility interconnections and generator protection schemes. Typical tasks will include short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies, development of one and three line diagrams, protection schemes and motor control circuits for MV and LV circuits. Other tasks also include working with vendors to write equipment purchase specifications.
The successful candidate in this position will be expected to mentor and manage younger staff engineers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop Design Documents (One Line Diagrams, Cable/Wire Schedules, Interconnect Diagrams, equipment specifications, etc.)
- Write Specifications for purchase of electrical equipment.
- Review electrical equipment submittals and ensure proper coordination with overall design. Ensure equipment meets design intent of the project.
- Perform calculations and analysis of electrical systems using ETAP and/or SKM.
- Travel to client sites during construction.
- Provide on-site commissioning support.
- Interface with clients and contractors.
- Manage and develop younger engineers.
- 10-20% travel is required.
Education:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
- 10-15 years in Industrial Power Engineering or Construction
- PE License
- Good Communication and Management Skills

- ETAP & SKM Electrical Circuit Analysis Software.
