What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at John H. Carter Company?
RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily
- Supervise accounts payable personnel.
- Prepare summary of cash.
- Assist controller with management of accounting staff and department
Monthly
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts.
- Prepare reconciliations on multiple general ledger accounts
- Maintain prepaid accounts.
- Assist with job costing.
- Calculate and pay commissions.
- Maintain fixed assets journal and review use tax.
Yearly/Occasionally
- Manage accounting staff and department in the absence of the Controller.
- Assist Controller with audits performed by our third party CPAs and other regulatory agencies, such as the Departments of Revenue and Labor.
- Filing business occupation licenses forms as well as payment of invoices.
- Filing business personal property tax returns as well as payment of invoices.
