In the Managing Director - Retirement Investment Consultant Central role you will be responsible for s ales of John Hancock Investment Management (JHIM) Strategies on an Investment Only basis to retirement plans via Intermediaries.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Introduce and secure placement of JHIM strategies via the top 150 Professional Retirement Plan Intermediaries with the territory.
  • Develop and implement a sales plan to distribute the IO strategies through JHIM Business Consultants (retail wholesaling team) and their relationships with intermediaries.
  • Provide investment support, guidance and expert advice to wholesalers; participate in presentations to plan sponsors and intermediaries.
  • Participate in Industry and Distribution Partner Conferences as needed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local or regional level personnel of key record keeper partners and/or distribution partners.

Note: Extensive travel required within assigned territory.

Required Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent business experience

  • 7 to 10 years experience in investment sales
  • NASD Series 6 or 7 and Series 63 (state insurance licenses desirable)
  • CIMA, CFA or CFA candidate desired

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the retirement plan market with emphasis on the DCIO marketplace; industry trends; and best practices.
  • Awareness of legal and compliance issues related to the sale of investment products within retirement plans.
  • Excellent sales, networking, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results focused.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the Operational process required for the successful onboarding of Investment Only Sales.

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
