Job Summary
The Water Investment Analyst (USA) will be responsible for water related investment analysis and research for Manulife IM Agriculture’s underwriting of USA agriculture investments and management of existing portfolio investments. The position is responsible for identifying and analyzing water risk (value protection) and opportunities (value creation) in agriculture investment. The role reports to Director, Global Water Resources and plays and important role supporting Manulife IM Agriculture’s capital deployment strategy, the global water team and other partner business units across Manulife IM Agriculture.

Salary range is expected to be between
$76,000.00 USD - $127,000.00 USD

Responsibilities
- Water related analysis, research and reporting support for underwriting of USA agriculture investments – including supporting water related aspects of due diligence
- Support analysis and business case development for water related investment and management decisions for existing portfolio investments
- Water related research for capital deployment strategies across key USA agriculture regions
- Coordinate alignment of water related assumptions across key Manulife IM Agriculture business units involved in investment analysis and USA underwriting
- Drive innovation and best practice in how Manulife IM Agriculture assesses water as a component in investment decision-making
- Water valuation and appraisal review duties
- Other duties as assigned
- 4-year degree in Water, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Agribusiness, Finance, Business, Economics, Commerce or related field
- 2-3 years of industry work experience viewed as desirable
- Proven ability to work with individuals both internal and external, functioning well in team settings
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees and management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, as well as be effective in remote settings
- Strong skills within Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and research capabilities are preferred. Additional skills with GIS mapping are desirable
- Travel within the USA may be required on ad-hoc basis
