Day in the Life of a Plumbing Excavation Operator
- Perform excavation and trenching activities related to plumbing installations and repairs
- Work closely with plumbing teams to ensure that excavation work is carried out efficiently and safely
- Safely operate excavation equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, and shovels to dig trenches for plumbing installations and repairs
- Mark the excavation area and clear it of any obstacles or debris before beginning the digging process
- Backfill trenches after plumbing work is completed, ensuring proper compaction of soil to prevent settling
- Restore the excavation site to its original condition or as specified in the project plan
- Perform routine maintenance on excavation equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions or issues promptly
- Any other duties needed to help drive our vision and fulfill our mission, while abiding by the JH core values
What We Need
- Work at a fast pace and complete tasks efficiently and safely
- Work independently and collaboratively with a team, suppliers, vendors, and customers
- Push, lift, and pull up to 175 pounds, climb stairs, bend, squat, stand for extended periods of time
- Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record; maintain a good driving record in compliance with John Henry’s requirements
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal and driving background checks
