What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Summer Cottage Parent position at John K. Crosswell Home for Children (Non-profit)?
Since 1935, John K. Crosswell Home for Children has been providing care to children and youth throughout SC that are unable to live with their family for various reasons. Our 28 acre, smoke-free campus is located in downtown Sumter with three residential cottages, providing a safe and secure, home-like Christian environment to children up to 21 years of age. Our children are involved in church, recreational sports and activities.
We are seeking Seasonal Summer Cottage Parents for May 23, 2025 - July 30, 2025.
Required pre-employment training and orientation will start on May 12, 2025, Monday - Friday, 9am-7pm.
SCHEDULE:
- Monday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
- Tuesday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
- Wednesday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
- Thursday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
- Friday 8:30 am - 2:00 pm
* In-Person interviews are required prior to job offer
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Childcare: One year experience, preferably in a group setting
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Drug Testing and Background Checks
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods
- Ability to participate in physical activities with children, including swimming and outdoor games
