Mailing Technician

Job Description

A Lettershop Technician supports Operators in setting up inserters and inkjet equipment to prepare products for mailing distribution. They adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, customer specifications, and USPS regulations. Additionally, the technician performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensures the optimal performance of equipment. The role also includes training employees across all stages of the training program.

Essential Duties

• Perform all setup, maintenance and troubleshooting on insert and inkjet equipment.
• Train employees in equipment operations and best practices to ensure machines are being operated effectively.
• Provide signoffs on projects and equipment.
• Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance inspections to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
• Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures, making sure the work area is hazard free and orderly.

Job Requirements

• Understand mailing specifications, including class, categories of mail pieces, and mail piece design requirements.
• Knowledge of Finishing and Direct Mail equipment.
• Use hand tools or machines needed to perform operations appropriately and safely.
• Read e-job tickets, job information, diagrams or drawings of items to be produced, purchased, maintained or repaired.
• Working on machinery with great precision and accuracy.
• Make sound decisions and resolve problems using facts, experience, problem-solving tools and personal judgment.
