Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician I will be responsible for various testing, verifications, and regulatory requirements for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Hazard Analysis Critical Quality Point (HACQP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) within the organization. This position works closely with production personnel of all levels to assure quality steps and compliance are being met. As a member of the Quality team, the Quality Assurance Technician I will work to assure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and reinforce GMPs as well as quality standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily Quality Control (QC) tasks including Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) testing and environmental swabs, allergen testing (if applicable), temperature checks, and pre-shipment checks.
- Performs tasks assigned via production software platform Red Zone and SOP’s.
- Reviews and understands the HACCP documents for the facilities.
- Performs pre-shipment reviews in accordance with United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations.
- Monitors GMP’s, food safety procedures, USDA samples and the verification and validation of processes as it relates to food safety and quality.
- Assists the Quality team with continuous improvement by providing reliable data and verified controls.
- Calibrates all required routine equipment on or before the required date.
- Assists with safety and food safety internal and external audits as needed.
- Performs investigations as it relates to nonconforming processes and products.
- Performs Direct Observations of Critical Control Point (CCP) compliance on a routine basis.
- Inspects returned product and provides disposition.
- Verifies Safe Quality Food (SQF) processes are followed by sanitation, production, warehouse, maintenance and purchasing.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of a four-year college/technical degree or 5 years of food manufacturing experience.
- Must be HACCP certified.
- Possess strong computer and data analytical skills.
- Strong communicator that can articulate issues to all levels of the organization.
- Assist Team Leaders with training as it pertains to quality-related issues and tasks.
- Proficiency in written and oral English required.
Salary : $500
