Position Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for working closely with the Raw Processing Team Leader and the Packaging Supervisor for the timely completion of production schedules. He or she will help direct work activities, as defined by the Supervisor. The incumbent will have to keep proper records and documentation of processes. The Team Leader is also responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the work areas, as well as ensuring that all personnel are properly trained.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Plan daily and weekly work for the department.
- Prepare packaging materials, as warranted, to be available for daily production.
- Work with the Dry Manager to arrange for product in fermentation and drying rooms to be available.
- Ensure that process equipment is maintained and ready for production.
- Supervise and direct the activities of all department employees.
- Coordinate employee rotation within the department on a regular basis.
- Assist the Supervisor in the timely and accurate recording of production information.
- Account for daily production in an accurate manner.
- Account for meat and raw material inventories.
- Prepare the Daily Verification Summary for HACCP records.
- Inspect product in the processing rooms to ensure proper maturing and development.
- Alert Supervisor of any employee issues and the need for disciplinary action, if required.
- Responsible for product or process problems, completion of NCRs, and prompt notification of QA/QC.
- Ensure work area is cleaned on a daily basis:
- Machinery in process is ready and the pre-op has been satisfactorily completed.
- Floors, tables, trucks, and trash containers are in their designated areas.
- Executing LEAN activities in the area.
- Ensure post-cleanup inspection is satisfactory.

Train and develop employees on required department tasks:
- Provide direction and work closely with the designated trainer to ensure all employees are cross-trained on multiple activities and have knowledge of all products, within the training of new employees within established probation periods.
- Assess employee activities and skills, in conjunction with the Official Trainer.
- Motivate and work with employees to meet production objectives.

Work to establish a safe work environment in accordance with industry and
OSHA standards. - Promote the Volpi Core Values with all department employees.
- Perform other tasks necessary to facilitate safe and smooth department operations.

Candidate Qualifications:
- Exceptional technical, process, and product knowledge is required.
- Certified in HACCP.
- Excellent problem solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership, understanding, and enforcement of GMP, SOP, SSOP, SQF, HACCP, and USDA requirements.
- Good organizational and task management capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English required).
- Competent in computer skills, including Microsoft Dynamic GP and Microsoft Office products.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
Salary : $500
