Summer 2025 High School Credit Recovery - Teacher
Overview
High School teachers will develop lessons and provide high-quality instruction that meet the needs of High School students who need to recover credits. Teacher applicants must be Massachusetts licensed, highly qualified in terms of subject matter knowledge, and familiarity with the best practices in instruction for all students, the state Common Core curriculum frameworks, grade level benchmarks, a variety of assessment strategies and techniques and must exhibit effective interpersonal skills. Teachers must be able to work well and collaborate with their peers to develop effective project-based lessons and instructional content aligned to areas of academic need (based off of district and school achievement data), and established learning goals.
Focus of the Program
This program will be open to current High School students as well as out of district High School students needing to recover credits. The program will attempt to have a teacher student ratio of 1:15. This is contingent on enrollment numbers.
World Language and Physical Education may not run if enrollment numbers are low.
Terms of Employment
The program will be held July 1, 2025 through July 25, 2025. Program times for students are 7:30 am - 12:30 pm in addition to a 1 hour prep per day, for a total of 18 days). Teachers will be expected to attend a minimum of one out-of-school time meeting in late June/early July for orientation and planning purposes.
Total Stipend - $4,725 ($45x105 hours)
