What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Johnny’s Roadside Diner?
Johnny's Roadside Diner is looking for a skilled server to join our team. We are looking for someone who is available to work Friday and Saturday nights as well as other weekend shifts. The right person should be passionate about hospitality and great food done right! Servers are responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience. Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Greets customers as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
- Present menu to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services as needed.
- Inform guests of any menu changes and daily specials, and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them to the kitchen.
- Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.
- Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to customers satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
- Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals.
- Prepares customers checks and collects payments.
- Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Responsible service of alcohol certification
- A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a keen willingness to learn
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time
- Two years experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
