We are seeking a Project Manager for our federal team. This role is primarily responsible for managing electronic and integrated security system projects (access controls, intrusion detection, video management systems, etc) projects at various military bases and other U.S. federal government sites across the U.S. This role can be based anywhere with the ability to travel around 20-25% of the time.

Location: Remote / Virtual with ability to travel.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000 based on experience.
Bonus eligible: Yes

Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 3 floating holidays, 5 sick days, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year. (6.5 weeks of paid time off in total).
Travel: 20-25%. Travel is typically a few days to a week in duration.
As a Project Manager, you will:
- Serve as a primary leader for execution on Electronic Security System (ESS) maintenance projects. Assists with development of project plans, schedules, and budgets, and executes them according to plan.
- Manage the selection, scope of work, procurement, quality and payment of project materials, vendors and subcontractors
- Monitors project progress and manages risks, establish project recovery plans, and resolve disputes to minimize escalation
- Serves as a primary point of contact for the U.S. Air Force customer. Provides regular project status updates and briefings to the customer
- Negotiates, prepares and issues subcontracts
- Ensures that assigned projects are done accurately, on-time, billed within budget and within scope of the contract.
- Adheres to and ensures project personnel and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards, internal policies, and US Army Corps of Engineers requirements (if applicable) regarding health and safety.
- Understand project and contract scopes; actively pursues growth opportunities and process improvements that will help the customer achieve desired outcomes
- Help prepare and approve cost estimates, contract terms & conditions, and technical responses to client requests for information, bids, and proposals
- Ensures Technicians, engineers, subcontractors and other site personnel complete assigned work per established standards, and thoroughly communicate the services performed and completion criteria to customers
- Troubleshoots technical and programmatic issues, working closely with the project team and other contractors
- Complete timely and accurate project billing to maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow
- Analyze financial reporting and project schedule to proactively address potential problems. Effectively communicates project progress, issues and financial status to leadership as required
- Provide periodic project status updates, and monthly revenue, cost, and gross margin forecast
- Ensure project document controls and deliverables comply with contract requirements and Johnson Controls standards
- Ensures accurate data is maintained in the logistics database
- Provides reports to both the customer and company leadership
- Coordinates customer-training requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Project management experience, preferably in the defense or government sector
- Strong technical competency and experience working with commercial or industrial Electronic Security Systems (EES) to include evaluation of contractual scope, specification interruption, change order management, basic design, and installation/maintenance standards
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience managing project financials (P&L management experience)
- Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Project preferred.
- Experience working with logistics databases
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively manage customer relationships and expectations
- Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as needed. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with U.S. Air Force or other Department of Defense agencies project requirements
- Experience reading and interpreting government contracts and government procurement standards
- Technical background with networking equipment or related equipment
- Experience working with work order management systems
- Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent work related experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Industry Electronic/Integrated Security System certification, licenses, and/or training (Softwarehouse C-cure 9000, Lenel, Bosch BVMS, Vindicator, etc)
