Under general supervision, perform clerical and technical duties involving a variety of functions requiring considerable judgment. Process accounting or real estate transactions and maintain accurate financial and other records. Perform routine reconciliation operations which involve a variety of documents that may require cross-referencing to identify causes of disagreement. Check to verify appropriateness of entries; perform several types of computation including complicated calculations that involve formulae or a specific sequence of actions. ***This position is 20 hrs. per week, schedule is flexible within Monday through Friday 8-5 pm***

Other duties may be required and assigned.Review recorded deeds and contracts, and update records including databases to reflect current ownership and other related information used for tax billing or for tracking ownership history.Perform quality control and approve updates to databases used for tax billing and tracking ownership history.Assist with specific queries from the public with regard to real estate and taxes.Verify changes in valuation by comparing abstracts from offices of the county and city assessors with real estate database records. Run periodic reconciliations, check off expected changes as requested by assessors, and determine corrections as needed.Verify accuracy of city, school and township budgets, according to laws. Review township financial statements to determine requirements are met.Maintain and update reports to track general obligation debt for Johnson County and the various cities and school districts within the county.Update computer files used to track tax increment financing debt and tax collections.Input and check levy and property tax credit data used in property tax billing.Review requests for pending subdivision plats and plats of survey and provide needed information or documentation.Produce and edit documents including but not limited to e-mails, memos, letters, reports, forms, and labels.Assist members of the public at the counter, including those who wish to register to vote or vote early.
