Job Title: Civil Engineer (P.E.) – Water/Wastewater
Market Group: Utilities – Water/Wastewater
Location: Fort Myers or Naples, Florida
Job Summary: Work encompasses all aspects of project management and engineering of utility projects, including but not limited to water, wastewater, and reclaimed water infrastructure.
This is an in-person position. This is not a remote work position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project management assistance on several types of utility projects including client coordination, contract negotiation, developing and maintaining project schedules, and maintaining project budgets.
• Supervising CAD designers and project coordination with other departments, professions, and agencies.
• Supervising permit technicians and administration in completing permit applications and moving permit application process forward.
• Construction observations, preparing field observation reports of construction activity, and witnessing critical tasks during construction.
• Project coordination and communication with construction managers, contractors, owners, construction inspectors, and permitting agencies.
• Writing technical reports, letters, project summaries, and emails.
• Water and wastewater pipeline, pump station, hydraulic modeling, and / or treatment plant design experience is preferred.
• Ability to work both in the field and in office settings.
• Relevant experience in Southwest Florida is preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
• Civil Engineer with 5 years of local experience in civil engineering of utility projects with a Florida P.E. for at least 1 year, or the ability to be licensed in Florida within 6 months.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook is Preferred.
• Position requires contact with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Must have an excellent driving record and have a valid Florida driver’s license as driving is an essential part of the position.
