Job Summary:
The Writing Associate is a critical member of the JGA team, playing an integral role in managing the proposal creation process and producing written products for our clients. As a JGA team member, the Writing Associate contributes to the strength of the JGA culture and the delivery of the highest quality service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- This work will include, but not be limited to, the following tasks:
- Synthesize input from project teams into clearly written, articulate, and comprehensive reports.
- Create meeting agendas for client engagements with strategic direction from consultants.
- Create compelling cases for support that tell the story of organizations and their fundraising priorities.
- Utilize Monday.com software to track progress and delivery of written products.
- Manage the proposal process for new client development including weekly reports to the consulting and project management staff.
- Use AI to help edit and write various written products for both the consulting team and clients.
- Serve as liaison between case designers to manage project workflow and coordinate timely delivery of product
- Assist the Marketing Director with content development as needed.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Participate in JGA firm initiatives, including strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant professional experience required, with five years preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Writing samples will be requested.
- Ability to hit deadlines without reminders or prompts from team colleagues.
- Ability to synthesize information into clear and compelling language.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Required skills/abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills internally and externally.
- Strong organizational skills to manage all firm proposal’s production timelines.
- Ability to utilize project management software to effectively track progress and communicate deadlines to team members.
- Ability to discern how best to use AI to strengthen JGA written products.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Always be a representative of JGA and must therefore maintain the highest standards of the field of philanthropy, personal discretion, and professional demeanor.
- A commitment to community or professional sector service is expected and will be supported by JGA.
Physical requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and talking on the phone.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
