Hiring for Fall 2025!
The primary role of the Writing and Communications Intern position is to write unique and engaging content that highlights student experiences provided by organizations within Student Life. All work will be linked to the Division of Student Life and its departments, focusing on cocurricular education, campus involvement, press releases and opportunities to grow and foster student well-being. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a marketing and communications environment. The Writing and Communications Intern should work 10-20 hours per week. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The Writing and Communications Intern must be reliable, organized, responsible and flexible. They must also be detail-oriented, creative and driven.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate creative writing skills, strong oral and written communication skills, an understanding of public relations and knowledge of AP style format. In lieu of a cover letter, please upload a writing sample or document containing links to writing samples. These samples can come from coursework, personal blogs or other forms of social media, previous employment, newspapers, other published print and/or digital media, personal writing or other sources at the discretion of the applicant. A writing sample is required for consideration for the position.
