What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist position at Johnson Health?
The IT Support Specialist is a mid-level IT team member that provides enhanced support to the IT Helpdesk Assistant as well as staff experiencing technical issues in a primarily Microsoft and Cisco environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responds to helpdesk requests via phone, electronic tickets, or in-person within SLAs.
2. Provides enhanced support and training development for EMR software.
3. Prepares and deploys new hardware (e.g. OS installation/imaging and patching, binding PCs to a domain, group policy updating and validation).
4. Updates and deploys computer images and terminal server patches.
5. Maintains printers and print drivers on print server; services printers where needed.
6. Installs software products in-person or remotely as directed.
7. Manages user accounts for staff (e.g. Active Directory, EMR, etc).
8. Documents and updates equipment inventory and knowledgebase articles.
9. Coordinating with IT staff to deploy infrastructure changes in off-peak hours.
10. Primary support contact for at least one physical site, will need occasional travel to multiple locations to provide support to printers, computers, and VOIP.
Other Functions:

Qualifications:
1. Two-year college degree in IT in lieu of 1-2 years IT experience.
2. Able to define and analyze PC architecture, basic networking, and client/server environments.
3. A certification, ability to obtain A within 90 days, or 2-3 years professional IT work.
4. Schedule requires early arrival or late exit following operating hours.
5. Willingness and eagerness to learn assigned tasks.
6. Maintains high efficiency and effort in accomplishing tasks with minimal supervision.
Physical Demand and Working Environment: Sedentary work requiring lifting and/or exerting force up to 25 pounds occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly moving objects. Work requires sitting, standing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive motions, vocal communication is required. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Local travel is required. OSHA low risk position.
