About the Role:
The Senior Director drives global NPI launches, life cycle management of Focus and Legacy products, and orchestrates forecasting efforts; builds pricing frameworks, designs downstream strategy, leads integration with VELYS/ET omnichannel marketing campaigns, and owns all income and cash flow targets, inclusive of inventory, for the global Spine businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Applying principles of Marketing, Launch Excellence, and LCM to drive sustainable growth in the short- to medium-term;
- Leveraging above to develop innovative strategies and tactics that will enhance customer/account/patient value and accelerate growth of NPI and Focus products;
- Providing strong analytical support/leadership, through a cross-functional team, in the areas of forecast management (MAPE/BIAS), launch optimization metrics, capital and operating expense management (in partnership with the Marketing Ops & Analytics team), revenue, income (i.e. profitability) and inventory (i.e. cash flow);
- Drive strategy for external partnerships and their portfolio additions; develop framework for relationship management from senior to junior levels;
- Collaborating with regional marketing (e.g. EMEA and APAC), internal and external business partners, and VELYS Spine Marketing in the development of current and future brand/omnichannel strategies;
- Spending time with customers, domestic and global, to develop relationships, understand needs and translate into insights that drive Upstream strategies;
- Designing clear, measurable, and objective talent development/management plans holding to direct report people leaders accountable for executing it; engaging business partners (e.g. Supply Chain, Regulatory, Finance, HEMA, Supply, etc.) to drive holistic development of team; build a robust talent pipeline program in coordination with other JJMT Orthopedic GSM programs;
- Lead and evolve DE&I efforts (e.g. Women in Spine) through continued partnership with key global KOLs, societies, conferences, and new organizational partners to drive sustainable progress;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required;
- MBA preferred;
- A minimum of 10 years of business experience (including 5 years in management) with previous experience in Sales, Marketing, Education, and/or Finance;
- A track record of leading initiatives to improve customer experiences, or to improve business outcomes;
- Proven strong collaboration skills to effectively partner with regional and global business partners;
- Demonstrated ability to build, test and gain support for strategies around nascent strategies/technologies;
- A strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow management to ensure that the business can invest in strategic areas;
- A strong ability to connect portfolio strategy to greater ROI;
- A strong understanding of the sales cycles for capital equipment and digital assets;
- Experience in building/shaping technology strategies in product and sales education/training;
- A strong grasp of the business processes involved in operating in the medical devices, robotics and/or digital space;
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team to high performance through development, motivation and management of goals and priorities;
- Ability to communicate effectively to senior leaders, to provide strategic and organizational implications of issues or decisions, to facilitate informed decisions;
- Proven ability to review data sets and discern trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvements in customer transactional experiences;
- Creative thinking and strong customer centric problem-solving skills;
- Strong presentation skills and ability to influence others;
- Ability to establish and maintain credibility as a knowledgeable business partner across the business;
- Ability to lead within a matrix organization and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment;
